Local registration
Enroll in your government's traveler enrollment program (STEP) or equivalent and share itinerary with a trusted contact.
Transport planning
Allow extra connection time for journeys and confirm transit options in advance when infrastructure works are reported.
Weather preparedness
Carry waterproof outer layers and plan indoor alternatives for activities during forecast heavy rain and thunderstorms.

Maritime caution
If you planned any coastal or ferry travel, check operator advisories and avoid non-essential voyages near the reported Black Sea incident.
A drone attack reportedly sank a cargo ship off Bulgaria on 2026-10-13, with crew missing — this may affect regional maritime security and advisories.
Transit contingency
Do not assume Line 4 will be available; arrange alternate routes or taxis for journeys that might otherwise rely on the new metro line.
Officials reported further delays on Athens Metro Line 4 due to Kypseli tunnel-boring problems on 2026-10-13.
Neighborhood caution
Exercise extra vigilance in Elefsina and Glyfada, particularly at night; consider avoiding isolated areas and travel in groups.
Recent reports on 2026-10-13 detailed a stabbing in Elefsina and a suspected gang-related killing in Glyfada.
